Jesus tells us that Christians will inherit his kingdom that was "prepared from the foundation of the world" in Matthew 25. When he comes in his glory and sits in Judgement on his throne he will divide his "sheep" from the "goats". Jesus went on to explain the difference between them being that his sheep fed, clothed, and cared for him. Jesus famously clarified that in verses 35-36 saying, "For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’" When the people questioned when they had done these things Jesus replied in verse 40, "The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’"
Praise God he cares for all of us, even the least of us. It is such an honor that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords gives us the opportunity to stand in his power and authority to minister to those in need, and in so doing he shares his kingdom, allowing us to be his presence on this Earth until he comes in his glory. And what do we have to give to such a King? We have the opportunity to give to him by giving to others.
